Serial Number: 890309 this was the 9th commander to leave the factory and this was on the 6th March 1980

The Carlight was purchased in October 2023 as in need of repair. I spent 5 months restoring her,
All damaged wood was replaced, the chassis was in very good condition so just had to be cleaned and painted
Outside: All the trim was removed and resealed using Sikaflex. New plastic infill fitted to all the trim.. All the windows and rubbers were removed cleaned then resealed with butyl sealant, the front rear and roof was repainted, and a new roof light fitted.
I replaced the gas locker with one from a 1984 model, so I could use the 6kg gas bottles. (The original locker will come with the Carlight if you need to fit it, as the small dumpy gas canisters are available again)
Chassis: The chassis is in very good condition and has been painted as is the under floor.
Torsion bar suspension, with 8” auto reverses brake drums and they have been replaced with the later Carlight back plates, drums, with relined shoes, new bearings and oil seals.
Alco hitch fitted with an Alco 2004/3004 Stabiliser / hitch fitted with new pads,. New jockey wheel,
Reich Motor mover fitted and works very well, 3 x tyres fitted late 2023 plus rare under slung spare wheel Carrier.

Electrics: All the interior lights have been changed to LEDs. Most of the wiring has been replaced and fitted with blade fuse boxes, 12volt sockets / USB points, new 240 volt consumer unit fitted and enough sockets
It is fitted with a130amp solar panel and Renogy controller and 110 amp battery.
The original onboard water tank was removed and it now uses an Aquaroll with the Whale Aquasmart hose / filter and Aquasmart inlet.
NewTruma Ultrastore GE water heater fitted Oct 2024 runs on gas and electric.
All water pipes replaced with John Guest fittings and new water pump plus shurflo water filter,
Comes with Caravan cover used once, Aquaroll 40Lt, Waste water carrier, TV, Sun canopy with frame, see photos.
TV aerial (This is a pole type fitted to the side of the caravan so it period correct)
Gas heater is original and works well,
Fridge works on Gas and Electric.
Electric Cable
Thetford bench toilet installed plus a new sink.
The inside is in very good condition
We have been using it for local vintage rallies in Cornwall and for holidays we went to Weymouth and the isle of Wight in July.
